So, I saw another great idea from Teacher Tipster about using transparent bunny eggs (found at Dollar tree, three for $1) and dice to create math sentences.
Since we are working on equivalent fractions, decimals, and percentages, I placed a fraction or decimal dice inside six different bunny eggs. In centers, students shook the bunnies, wrote down whatever fraction or decimal landed on top, and then converted them to the other two equivalencies.

What a great way to practice equivalent fractions. I'm going to tweak this a bit, because I don't have fraction dice.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm going to do is have the kids roll 2 dice, and they need to make a fraction with the two numbers; one being the numerator and one being the denominator. (improper fractions would be okay)
From that fraction, they need to come up with 3 equivalent fractions, and then using their calculator, they will need to figure out the decimal and percentage equivalent.
I'll have to create a different sheet, but your idea is awesome! Thanks for helping me create a math station that will work with my 4th graders!
