Vinyl Dry-Erase Circles

So, it was a fun Friday today because it was one of those rare professional development days where we actually got to work in our classrooms. Can you believe it?!

It was great timing because I just ran across Kinder Kerri's awesome idea to use vinyl on tables to serve as dry-erase mats. Such an obvious idea since my husband already had red vinyl for some design projects of his.

Kinder Kerri's Vinyl Circles

I came into school with a roll of Oracal vinyl under my arms (My husband got it from a sign supply warehouse, but I'm sure Amazon or Ebay has some. Click here for a link to an Etsy shop that sells rectangular sheets.).

I cut circles using the string-and-pencil-compass method. :P Attaching the vinyl was a little tricky. I used my AMEX card as a squeegee to smooth out the bubbles. Overall, I think it turned out cute, and now we'll see how long they last!

 Glossy!

Sra. Carro was here.

I really want to stick this stuff all over every wall and door of my room for math stations, but I'm going to wait and see how the table works out. I would do it on the students' desks, but they do a lot of partner-checking and it would be harder to show their work with vinyl mats.

Have a great, long weekend, everyone!

That is a fantastic idea! I have a chalkboard tree on the door of my classroom that the students love to write on but circles on a group table is something I want to do this weekend!! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Amanda! I hope you do, too! We teachers can get so much done if they'll just let us!
